Background on Plant

The two coal-fired units of Xingning power station, totaling 270 MW, were brought online in 2006 and 2007; they run on anthracite coal. The plant is owned by China Resources.[1]

Both units were retired in September 2017.[2][3]

Description of Expansion

China Resources were planning to build two additional waste coal-fired units at this plant, with a total planned capacity of 700 MW.[4][1][5]

However, with no developments since 2014, the project appears to be abandoned.
