"He has taught international relations, religion, and politics at Boston University, the University of Dallas (Texas), and Christendom College in Virginia. During the 1980s, he worked for the Senate foreign Relations Committee of the United States Senate, where he served for six years as staff director for the Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere Affairs. He is a trustee of the Population Research Institute and a founding trustee of the American Foreign Policy Council (Washington) and Universidad Francisco Marroquin (Guatemala).
