Chuck Hirsch
Chuck Hirsch "joined Madrona in 1999 and served as a Managing Director with the firm for 6 years. During this time he has served as board observer for Aventail, ePartners and ThinkFire and developed the firm's strategic relationships with Microsoft, IBM, Motorola, Boeing, Agilent, and numerous others. He recently co-founded MHz, LLC, a strategic advisory firm focused on U.S./China opportunities, and will continue to support Madrona portfolio companies and investors in this on-going Strategic Director role.
"Mr. Hirsch was formerly Chairman of Hirsch & Co., LLC, a Seattle-based venture consulting firm. He has advised a number of technology companies as well as several prominent national investment firms. He co-founded and was President of Dare to Dream Intertainment, which was acquired by Microsoft in 1995, where he served as Group Product Planner, co-leading development of the Actimates ® product line. In 1988, he helped to create, and became Executive Vice President of, the Amelior Foundation in New Jersey.
"He serves on the Board of Directors of the Institute for Systems Biology and the Advisory Board for the Talaris Research Institute. He was a long-standing member of the Board of Trustees of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, the Executive Committee of the Seattle Alliance of Angels and the White House Fellows Foundation. He was appointed by Washington State Governor Gary Locke as a founding member of the State's Economic Development Commission. A former White House Fellow, Mr. Hirsch is a graduate of Williams College." [1]
