Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company (CG&E) is now part of Duke Energy. In 1994 CG&E and Kentucky subsidiary Union Light, Heat & Power (ULH&P) were merged with Plainfield, Indiana-based PSI Energy (Public Service Indiana) to create Cinergy, an energy company based in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2006 Cinergy was acquired by the larger Charlotte, North Carolina-based Duke Energy.[1]
