The Community Health Councils Group exists 'to provide a forum for Members of both Houses to debate the work and future activities of community health councils (CHCs), health councils, and health and social services councils; to develop stronger links between parliamentarians and those councils; and to help promote the role played by such councils on behalf of the local community'
