"The Council for Disabled Children (CDC) is the umbrella body for the disabled children's sector in England, with links to other UK nations." [1] "CDC was founded in 1974 in response to recommendations in the Dame Eileen Younghusband Committee report, "Living with Handicap". This report highlighted the lack of coordination between services supporting disabled children and the need for a national forum to discuss policy issues concerning disabled children." [1]
