Crandall Bowles
Crandall Bowles "is Chairman, Springs Industries, Inc. and Chairman, The Springs Company in Fort Mill, South Carolina. She was elected to the position in 2007.
"She joined Springs Industries in 1973 as a financial analyst. She was named executive vice president of The Springs Company, a subsidiary, in 1978, and was later appointed its president in 1982. In 1992, Bowles was named executive vice president, growth and development of Springs Industries, and one year later was named the company's executive vice president of textile production. In 1995 she was appointed the president of Springs Industries' bath fashions group. In January 1997, she became president and chief operating officer of the company, and in December of that year, she was named its chief operating officer. In April 1998, Bowles also was elected as the company's chairman. In 2006, she became Co-Chairman and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Springs Global US, Inc. and Springs Global Participacoes S.A.; and Chairman of Springs Industries, Inc.
"She has been a member of Springs Industries' board of directors since 1978, and also is a member of the board of directors of JP Morgan Chase & Company, Sara Lee Corporation, Carolina Thread Trail, and The Springs Close Foundation, Inc. Bowles is on the national advisory board of the Maya Angelou Research Center on Minority Health and is a member of The Business Council, the Committee of 200, and the South Carolina Climate, Energy and Commerce Advisory Committee.
