Background on Plant

The project would consist of six coal-fired units of 660 MW each. Project sponsor Excel Powmin of Abhijeet Group submitted an environmental assessment toward an environmental clearance permit in 2011.

As of 2016 the project has not received environmental clearance, and appears to have been abandoned.
