Dalate power station (华能北方联合电力达拉特发电厂) is a 3,180-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China.

A 2,000 MW expansion has been proposed.

Background on Plant

Dalate power station is a 3,180 MW coal-fired power station in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, owned by China Huaneng. The plant's existing eight units were completed between 1995 and 2007:

• Units 1-4 (330 MW each, subcritical) - operating 1995
• Units 5-6 (330 MW each, subcritical) - operating 2004
• Units 7-8 (600 MW each, supercritical) - operating 2007

Proposed expansion

China Huaneng has proposed adding a Units 9 & 10 at the power station, totaling 2,000 MW (1,000 MW each).

2016: Nationwide Restrictions Imposed on Development of Coal-Fired Power Capacity

Due to new restrictions announced during 2016 by the National Energy Administration and the National Development and Reform Commission, further capacity expansions at this location appear to be on hold or cancelled.
