"Dr. Peterson's recent books include The Deluge and the Ark: A Journey into Primate Worlds; Visions of Caliban; On Chimpanzees and People (co-authored with Jane Goodall); Chimpanzee Travels: On and Off the Road in Africa; Demonic Males: Apes and the Origins of Human Violence (co-authored with Richard Wrangham); Storyville, USA; and most recently, his expose of the bushmeat trade in Central Africa, Eating Apes (University of California Press, 2003). Dale had also edited a two-volume collection of Jane Goodall's letters (Africa in My Blood and Beyond Innocence); and he is currently working on the first full biography of Jane Goodall. Translalted into nine foreign languages, his books have been honored as a New York Times Notable Book of the Year, Village Voice Best Book of the Year, The Economist Best Book of the Year, Discover magazine Top Book of the Year, a Bloomsbury Review Editor's Choice; short-listed for the Sit Peter Kent Conservation Book Prize and the PEN/New England Book Award; and nominated for the 2004 Pulitzer Prize. Dr. Peterson lives in Arlington, Massachusetts with his wife, Dr. Wyn Kelley, and two sweet mutts of a St. Bernard inclination, Smoke and Spike."
