Datun Mine power station (中煤上海大屯能源大屯热电联产) is a 1,009-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Jiangsu Province, China.

Background on Plant

The first nine coal-fired units of Datun Mine power station, totaling 499 MW, were brought online between 1998 and 2010. The plant is owned by ChinaCoal.

Unit 3 (55 MW) has been retired. Unit 6 (135 MW) was retired in May 2019.

Expansion

ChinaCoal has planned two additional coal-fired units at this plant, known as units 10-11, with a total capacity of 700 MW. The new units were scheduled to be completed in 2015, but as of April 2018 Planet satellite photos show construction is ongoing.

Unit 10 was commissioned in January 2019.

Unit 11 was commissioned in May 2019.
