David S. Chiu
David Chiu is the Chief Operating Officer of Grassroots Enterprise. "Chiu has also served as the company's General Counsel.
"David previously worked in the United States Senate, as Democratic Counsel to the Constitution Subcommittee of the Senate Judiciary Committee and as Senator Paul Simon's aide to the Senate Budget Committee. David was also a criminal prosecutor with the San Francisco District Attorney�s Office, as well as a law clerk to Judge James Browning of the Ninth Circuit United States Court of Appeals.
"Immediately prior to Grassroots Enterprise, David served as a staff attorney with the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights, where one of his responsibilities was to manage online communications for a coalition of 50 civil rights, social service, religious and labor organizations. This experience inspired David to found Grassroots Enterprise.
"David has served as board president of the Youth Leadership Institute, president of the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area, chair of California's 13th Assembly District Democratic Committee, and a board member with nonprofits focused on affordable housing, domestic violence and civil rights. David was also appointed by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to the San Francisco Small Business Commission. In 2004, Chiu was named one of the country's "Best Lawyers Under 40" by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
"Chiu graduated with honors from Harvard College and Harvard Law School, and also holds a master's degree in public policy from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government." [1]
