Dawan Waste Coal power station (大唐大湾（二塘）煤矸石发电项目) is a proposed 600-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Guizhou Province, China.

Background on Project

China Datang has proposed a power station of two 300 MW units for the town of Dawan. Preparatory work on the project was approved in July 2013. Construction is planned for 2015. The estimated cost is three billion yuan. It will be a waste coal-fired power plant.

2016: Nationwide Restrictions Imposed on Development of Coal-Fired Power Capacity

Due to new restrictions announced during 2016 by the National Energy Administration and the National Development and Reform Commission, further capacity expansions at this location appear to be on hold or cancelled. With no developments since 2013, the project appears to be abandoned.
