Debby Cox
Debby Cox "is widely regarded as one of world's most respected experts on the handling, care and conservation of Chimpanzees in sanctuaries and in the wild. She has tested herself in war-torn Burundi and in a relatively peaceful Uganda where she has worked with local communities to improve conservation outcomes and support community development. Debby has served as the project Director for the CSWCT (Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust) in Uganda and in that role has served a 5-country board of directors for the Trust and established two sanctuaries for injured and confiscated chimpanzees. These sanctuaries are now considered the model of best practice for primates and has established the Pan-African Alliance of Sanctuaries for the protection of Great Apes across equatorial Africa .
