Democracy Movement
The Democracy Movement is a anti-European Union campaign in the UK.
"The Democracy Movement is a large network of registered supporters and activists, backed by a small campaign team at its HQ in London led by Marc Glendening (Political Director) and Stuart Coster (Campaign Director). The DM's campaign is overseen by a cross-party Advisory Council, co-chaired by the Labour MP Graham Stringer and Conservative MP David Nuttall... The Democracy Movement was founded in 1998 through a merger of the Referendum Movement - the non-party Keep the Pound campaign which came out of Sir James Goldsmith's Referendum Party - and the Euro Information Campaign established by the Yorkshire businessman Paul Sykes... Most recently the DM has been instrumental in founding - and has strongly supported - the People's Pledge campaign for an in-out EU referendum, which is credited in particular with turning around Conservative policy on an EU referendum from opposition in October 2011 to supporting an in-out EU vote in January 2013."
