Background

The project is planned by Gujarat State Electricity Corp.[1]

In April 2013 the company put out consulting bids for the project's EIA study toward Environmental Clearance. The company says it has already acquired land for the project.[2]

However, as of September 2016 the project has yet to receive any necessary permits, and plans appear to be shelved or abandoned. The EIA for the project appears never to have actually been written.
