Background

The project is planned by NTPC in India. A terms of reference was issued in 2011, and extended in 2013 to July 2014.

In February 2015 NTPC invited bids to provide consultancy services for carrying out the EIA feasibility study for setting up the 2 x 800 MW power station.

However, the project's terms of reference permit has lapsed with no EIA submitted, and plans appear to be deferred or abandoned.
