Background

The project is planned by NTPC in India. A terms of reference was issued in 2011,[1] and extended in 2013 to July 2014.[2]

In February 2015 NTPC invited bids to provide consultancy services for carrying out the EIA feasibility study for setting up the 2 x 800 MW power station.[3]

However, the project's terms of reference permit has lapsed with no EIA submitted, and plans appear to be deferred or abandoned.
