"As an international communications consultant, Diane Cromer is an expert at using communications to solve complex political and public policy problems for corporate, political and government clients. A media trainer, market research and public relations specialist, Cromer brings more than 25 years of experience in the business world, government, politics, and broadcast media to clients throughout the United States and around the globe.
"Currently, Cromer is leading a United Nations Development Project for a bi-communal communications and education programs in Cyprus. The goal is to initiate public discussion between the Greek and Turks’ communities to develop ongoing bi-communal activities and to undertake education reform including development of new texts and curriculum that promote stable relationships between the island’s two major cultures.
"Among her recent successes, Cromer served as the political consultant to the Democratic Opposition of Serbia, the 18 party coalition that defeated Slobodan Milosevic as the President of Yugoslavia. Following elections, she continued to work directly with the former Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic and the Speaker of the Parliament.
"Working for the IBM Business Consultant group, Cromer directed the strategies for international and national acceptance of key economic reform principles, including Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Development, Privatization, and Anti-Monopoly.
"Understanding message development starts with accurate information. As Vice President and General Manager of the Metro Intergroup Research firm, a national research and political polling firm, Diane served clients including Senator John Glenn, Colorado Governor Roy Roamer, and members of Congress (including Marcy Captor, Bill Boner, and Robert Clements). Additionally, her professional experience included overseeing research for Bausch-Lomb, T.J. Maxx, and CoreStates Bank.
"Early in her career, Diane was a political reporter working for two of the country’s top-ten market ABC affiliates, WPVI-TV in Philadelphia, and WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh. While only 23 years old, she traveled on the Presidential bus covering the reelection campaign of former President Gerald Ford, and later, built the first state government broadcast production house for the Pennsylvania Cable Television Association.
"This insight, combined with work on nearly 125 political campaigns, makes she widely recognized as a skilled practitioner of political strategy. She focuses her efforts on political media training, as well as training others in campaign management, message development, strategic message delivery, field organizing and communications and presentation techniques.
"Diane has been a lead trainer for the Democratic National Committee and wrote the campaign manager program for the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee. In addition to the American Medical Association AMPAC school, Diane also has led schools for the National Women’s Campaign Fund and taught at the Yale Campaign School, to name a few. She also teaches MBA candidates at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business on communications and presentation techniques.
