The project is sponsored by Dalmia Power Limited. The Bihar State Investment Promotion Board lists the project as having been granted investment approval in February 2011,[1] although is not specifically listed on the company website.[2] The power station has been proposed to be built at Dona village.[1]
However, as of 2014 the project has not received environmental permits, and may have been cancelled.
