Donald McGauchie
Donald (Don) McGauchie is the Chairman of Telstra and a board member of the Reserve Bank of Australia. He was formerly president of the National Farmers' Federation from 1994 to 1998.
He is also Deputy Chairman of Ridley Corporation Ltd, a Director of National Foods Ltd, a Director of James Hardie Industries, and a Director of Nufarm Ltd.
He is a contributor to the Lavoisier Group, an Australian Climate change skeptic group, and to the HR Nicholls Society, and the Asialink Council. [1]
He played a key role in the 1998 waterfront dispute with the Maritime Union of Australia. "It was Donald McGauchie's employment of non-union labour to try and break the Maritime Union's stranglehold on the docks which sparked industrial warfare on the waterfront." [2]
