Background

Jindal Synfuels received a Terms of Reference to develop a 9 x 125 MW captive coal plant in conjunction with a proposed 80,000 barrel-per-day coal-to-liquids project in Odisha. Following the Supreme Court's verdict to de-allocate the block of coal associated with the project, the company decised to abandon the synfuels project.[1]
