Earl of Clanwilliam
Born Patrick Meade, Paddy became the 8th Earl of Clanwilliam in 2010. He started his career in the late 80’s at Hanson PLC, the US/UK conglomerate, and at the same time was elected for two consecutive terms as a Councillor in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. Lord Clanwilliam was educated at Eton College and Sandhurst. He has three children and lives in London.
Lord Clanwilliam joined the Board of Soma Oil & Gas Holdings in December 2013. He has a background in natural resources and international relations. Lord Clanwilliam has been Chairman of Eurasia Drilling Company since October 2007. He is a director of NMC Healthcare plc and sits on the Advisory Board of Oracle Capital and Milio International. [1]
Lord Clanwilliam founded and is currently a Director of Gardant a strategic communications consultancy specialising in the protection and safeguarding of client brands and reputations. Member of the Board of Directors of OJSC Polyus Gold since March 2006. Member of the Board of Directors of the Benevolent Society of St. Patrick since 1997. Member of the Board of Directors of Soma Oil & Gas since 2013. Member of the Advisory Council of the Ukrainian British City Club since 2005. Lord Clanwilliam was a director of the Ballot Box Limited from 2000 to 2003, and Chairman of the Board of Directors (without executive powers) of Cleveland Bridge UK Ltd from 2000 to 2004. [2]
