"Ed Backus holds an MFS from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. He worked for eight years at The Nature Conservancy International and at Conservation International before moving to Oregon in 1993. He was the president and co-founder of Interrain Pacific, a non-profit organization leading the development of public access to geographic information systems (GIS), which has since been integrated into the work of Ecotrust Knowledge Systems. Ed is chair of the board of the Prince William Sound Science Center in Cordova, Alaska." [1]
