Ellen Golombek
Ellen Golombek "joined SEIU in late January 2003 as the National Campaign Director of Americans for Health Care. In the fall of 2004, she took over as the Interim National Political Director. In March of 2005, Golombek became the Assistant to the Secretary-Treasurer, Director of Government Affairs. Prior to coming to SEIU, Ellen worked at the Colorado AFL-CIO. She began her tenure there in 1993 as the Political Director. In 1997, she was then elected Secretary-Treasurer of the organization while maintaining her role as Political Director. In October of 2001, she was elected as the first woman President of the Colorado AFL-CIO. Prior to joining the Colorado AFL-CIO, Golombek was a flight attendant for United Airlines and served as the Master Executive Chair for Legislative Affairs for the Association of Flight Attendants at United. She is a graduate of Antioch University and earned her BA in Labor Studies." [1]
