Everjoice J. Win
Everjoice J. Win "is a feminist from Zimbabwe. She was educated at the University of Zimbabwe, and graduated with Honours in Economic History. Her whole working life has been in the women's movement in Zimbabwe and the African continent. Notably; with the Women's Action Group, one of the few feminist organisations focusing on women's legal and health rights. She worked with this organisation as Editor of their popular education publication, SPEAK OUT/TAURAI/KHULUMANI; Programme Officer with Women in Law and Development in Africa (WiLDAF), a pan-African women's rights NGO, using the law as a tool for development. She headed the Zimbabwe programme of WiLDAF and during that time also spearheaded the organisation's participation in a number of International conferences that put African women's rights issues on the map; The Vienna Conference on Human Rights, The Copenhagen Social Summit, the ICPD in Cairo and Dakar and Beijing conferences; I served as a Commonwealth Advisor to the Commission on Gender Equality of South Africa.
"She is currently, the International Head of Women's Rights with Action-Aid International. Action Aid works in over 40 countries globally, and I am responsible for leading international advocacy on Women's Rights. She has been an active leader in social justice movements; She is a founder member of the National Constitutional Assembly of Zimbabwe; served as spokes-person for the Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition, which groups together all progressive and politically active civic groups in the country. She is a Board member, of Akina mama wa Afrika, Women and AIDS Support Network, the Association of Women's Rights in Development (AWID), and the Center for Civil Society at University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. She is a regular columnist and contributor to newspapers, magazines, and journals." [1]
