Fred Phaswana joined the Board of Anglo American "on 12 June 2002. He is chairman of the Nomination Committee and a member of the Remuneration and Audit Committees. He is the non-executive chairman of Anglo American South Africa and Anglo Platinum. He is currently chairman of Transnet and a director of Naspers and was previously BP regional president: Africa, a director of BP Oil (Benelux), an associate president of BP Netherlands and chairman and chief executive of BP Southern Africa. He is also a member of the South African Institute of International Affairs." [1]
