The Fruit Industry Group exists 'to cover issues relating to all fruit crops produced in the UK, categorised as follows: top fruit (apples and pears), stone fruit (cherries and plums) and soft fruit (strawberries, raspberries, currants); and to provide information and have frank and open discussions on fruit-related topics'

Marden Fruit Show Society provides secretarial services. Transport and refreshments are provided at group events such as occasional visits to farms, research organisations, and the National Fruit Show by the host organisation.
