Fuyang (Huaren) power station (华润电力阜阳公司一期) is a 1,280-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Anhui province, China.

An additional 1,320 MW has been proposed.

Background on existing power station

Fuyang power station is a 1,280 MW (2 x 640 MW) coal-fired power plant that began construction in 2004 and went online in 2006. The power station is owned by China Resources Power Holdings.[1]

Expansion

A second phase of two units of 660 MW each has been proposed.[2] The new units are expected to be operational by 2017.[3]

The new units got preliminary approval in January 2015,[4] and was permitted in January 2016.[5]

There were no further developments on the proposal until December 2018, when a revival ceremony was held for the project.[6]
