Fuyang (Huaren) power station (华润电力阜阳公司一期) is a 1,280-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Anhui province, China.

An additional 1,320 MW has been proposed.

Background on existing power station

Fuyang power station is a 1,280 MW (2 x 640 MW) coal-fired power plant that began construction in 2004 and went online in 2006. The power station is owned by China Resources Power Holdings.

Expansion

A second phase of two units of 660 MW each has been proposed. The new units are expected to be operational by 2017.

The new units got preliminary approval in January 2015, and was permitted in January 2016.

There were no further developments on the proposal until December 2018, when a revival ceremony was held for the project.
