George Radanovich
George P. Radanovich, a Republican, is a former U.S. Representative for the 19th Congressional District of California, having served 1995 to 2011.[1]

Iraq War
Radanovich voted for the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 that started the Iraq War.[2]
Anti-ESA group
Radanovich serves on the advisory board of National Wilderness Institute, an organization that claims to be the "voice of reason on the environment." NWI is dedicated to weakening the Endangered Species Act and other environmental protections. [1]
Biography
Radanovich was born on June 20, 1955 in Mariposa, California. He was educated at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and was a bank executive, business owner and member of the Mariposa County board of supervisors before entering the House.
He defeated Michael Dermanouel Jr. in the Republican primary in 1994 and incumbent congressman Richard Lehman in the following November election. Richard Lehman was considered vulnerable after narrowly defeating Tal Cloud the previous election cycle.
2006 elections
In 2006, the Democrats nominated TJ Cox to face Radanovich in his November 2006 bid for reelection. (See U.S. congressional elections in 2006) [2] Radanovich retained his seat.
2010 elections
In 2010, Radanovich did not seek reelection in order to be with his dying wife. His hand-picked successor Republican Jeff Denham won the fall election.[1]
