George S. Sarlo
George S. Sarlo is the Managing Director of the Walden Group.
"In addition to his current duties as a director of several public and private corporations, he contributes extensive financial and technical knowledge to Walden's investment portfolio. George is also Chairman of Ashfield & Co., Inc., an investment management company in San Francisco with over $3 billion under management. His investment career includes experience as Vice President and Director of William D. Witter, Inc., as well as Portfolio Manager at Capital Research, Inc. George began his career as a member of the technical staff of Hughes Aircraft Semiconductor division, where he developed advanced semiconductor devices.
"George is President of the Sarlo Family Foundation, a trustee of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, a member of the University of California San Francisco Foundation, and Chairman Emeritus of KQED, Inc. He is also a Director of The International Rescue Committee and the Joint Distribution Committee.
"George earned his Master's Degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Graduate School of Business. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona." [1]
