"Gloucestershire Land for People has an office base at The Exchange in Stroud... In 2003, Stroud-based community activiist, Martin Large, was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship, to visit Community Land Trusts in the USA. At the same time the organisation, Stroud Commonwealth (which aims to build community wealth for social, cultural and economic renewal), received funding from Gloucestershire County Council's Economic Development Unit to undertake a feasibility study into community land trusts for the area. For more information on Stroud Commonwealth, go to: http://www.stroudcommonwealth.org.uk/

"This led to the formation of the Stroud and District Community Land Trust, an independent, county-wide, membership organisation formed in April 2005. This became Gloucestershire Land for People (GLP) in September 2006, which is an Industrial and Provident Society (IPS 30114R)." [1]   In their 2010/11 Annual Report they note: "In this report I’d like to set out the general direction that Gloucestershire Land for People (GLP) is taking and to update the Cashes Green story. But first a really big ―thank you!‖ to our funders: the Tudor Trust and Lankelly Chase have yet again supported us, and the GreenSquare Group has generously funded the establishment of the new Cashes Green Community Land Trust (CGCLT) – of which more later."
