Background

The power station is in the planning stages, according to a 2013 list of proposed coal plants in India.[1]

The project received a terms of reference toward environmental clearance in May 2013.[2]

However, as of October 2016 the project has yet to receive environmental clearance, and plans appear to be deferred or abandoned.
