Granite Institute

Learn more about how the State Policy Network aids ALEC and spins disinformation in the states.

The Granite Institute(GI) is a right-wing advocacy group based in Concord, New Hampshire. It is a member of the State Policy Network, a web of state pressure groups that denote themselves as "think tanks" and drive a right-wing agenda in statehouses nationwide. GI focuses its activities on expanding charter schools and on finding solutions to the heroin crisis in New Hampshire.

Activities

Granite Institute runs Granite Action, a 501 (c)4 nonprofit run by Ovide Lamontagne, a prominent republican in New Hampshire. Lamontagne is the only employee listed working at the organization. According to a report by NH1 News, Granite Action "will support the Granite Institute, which 'was recently created as a conservative think tank for New Hampshire.'"

Core Finances

As of May 2017, the Granite Institute does not have an IRS 990 to review on either Citizen Audit or GuideStar so its financials are unknown.
