Learn more about how the State Policy Network aids ALEC and spins disinformation in the states.

The Granite Institute(GI) is a right-wing advocacy group based in Concord, New Hampshire. It is a member of the State Policy Network, a web of state pressure groups that denote themselves as "think tanks" and drive a right-wing agenda in statehouses nationwide. GI focuses its activities on expanding charter schools and on finding solutions to the heroin crisis in New Hampshire.[1]

Activities

Granite Institute runs Granite Action, a 501 (c)4 nonprofit run by Ovide Lamontagne, a prominent republican in New Hampshire.[2] Lamontagne is the only employee listed working at the organization. According to a report by NH1 News, Granite Action "will support the Granite Institute, which 'was recently created as a conservative think tank for New Hampshire.'"[3]

Core Finances

As of May 2017, the Granite Institute does not have an IRS 990 to review on either Citizen Audit or GuideStar so its financials are unknown.[4]
