Gregory T. Lucier "is President and CEO of Invitrogen Corporation, a provider of products and services that support academic and government research institutions and pharmaceutical and biotech companies worldwide.

"Founded in 1987 and headquartered in Carlsbad, California, Invitrogen has eight manufacturing locations in North America, Europe and Asia, operations in more than 20 countries and distributor relationships in 50 countries, providing essential life science technologies for disease research, drug discovery and commercial bio-production.

"Invitrogen's products can be found in nearly every major laboratory in the world. Among them are many of the most widely recognized names in the industry, including Molecular Probes, BioReliance, Gibco and Dynal Biotech.

"Prior to joining Invitrogen, Lucier worked for General Electric, where in 2000 he was appointed President and CEO of GE's Medical Systems Information Technologies business unit. In three years, he increased the unit's sales from $700 million to $1.8 billion. Previously at GE, he was Vice President of the Global Services group and was elected an executive officer in 1999. From 1995 to 1999, Lucier was President of a joint venture between GE and Harris Corporation.

"Before joining GE, Lucier held executive and management positions at Morrison Knudsen and International Paper. He holds an M.B.A. degree from Harvard University and a bachelors degree in industrial engineering from Pennsylvania State University." [1]
