Jinwan power station (粤电金湾发电公司) is a 1,200-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Guangdong Province, China.

It is also known as units 3-4 of Zhuhai GZP power station.

Location

The map below shows the location of the plant, in Jinwan District, Zhuhai Prefecture, Guangdong Province. The older Zhuhai GZP power station, built in 2000 and 2001 is located slightly to the south at this site.

Background on Plant

The two existing coal-fired units of Jinwan power station, totaling 1,200 MW, were brought online in 2007. The are also considered the second phase of Zhuhai GZP power station. The plant is owned by Guangdong Yudean Group.

Description of Expansion

Guangdong Yudean, along with Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings, are currently planning to build two additional coal-fired units at this plant, with a total planned capacity of 2,000 MW.

However, with no developments since 2007, plans for the plant appear to be abandoned.
