Guodian Jingyuan power station (国电靖远发电公司) is an 880-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Gansu Province, China.
An additional 2,000 MW is proposed.

Background on Plant
Guodian Jingyuan power station is a four-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 880 MW (4 x 220 MW). The plant was completed between 1989 and 1992, and is owned by China Guodian.[1]
The predecessor of Guodian Jingyuan was Jingyuan 1 Power Station. In 2003 Jingyuan No.1 Power Station was transferred to China Guodian, and the name changed to Guodian Jingyuan Power Company, accordingly.[2]
The second phase of Jingyuan power station went operation in 1996-1997 - two units of 320MW each. Additional 2*300MW units were completed in 2006-2007. The 4 units formed Jingyuan-2 power station, which is owned by SDIC. The two power stations are next to each other.[2]
Proposed expansion
China Guodian was planning to build two new 1000MW at the power station (with some sources saying 1320MW).[3][4][5][6]
However, there appear to be no developments on the units since 2012, and they are likely abandoned.
2016: Nationwide Restrictions Imposed on Development of Coal-Fired Power Capacity
Due to new restrictions announced during 2016 by the National Energy Administration and the National Development and Reform Commission, further capacity expansions at this location appear to be on hold or cancelled. Ownership
On August 28, 2017, China's State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) announced that China Guodian Corporation and Shenhua Group will be jointly restructured. Shenhua Group will become China National Energy Investment Group and will absorb China Guodian Corporation. It will be the largest power company in the world by installed capacity, as well as the world's largest coal producer.[7][8] The merger was completed on November 28, 2017.[9]
