Kuqa (Kuche) power station (国电库车发电公司) is a 600-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China.

Background on Plant
Kuqa power station is a four-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 870 MW in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. The first two units, totaling 270 MW, were completed in 2006. Units 3 & 4, totaling 600 MW, were completed in 2012-13. The plant is majority-owned by China Guodian.[1][2]
Units 1 & 2 were retired in 2018, leaving 600 MW.[3]
Ownership
On August 28, 2017, China's State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) announced that China Guodian Corporation and Shenhua Group will be jointly restructured. Shenhua Group will become China National Energy Investment Group and will absorb China Guodian Corporation. It will be the largest power company in the world by installed capacity, as well as the world's largest coal producer.[4][5] The merger was completed on November 28, 2017.[6]
