According to the Gupta Group website Gupta Coalfields & Washeries has 12 coal washeries located in the state of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Chhatisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa & Jharkhand with a total capacity of 37.5 million tonnes.[2]

Coal power station proposal

Gupta Coalfields & Washeries has proposed the construction of the Ghugus power station. The company states that the project, at Usegaon village near Ghugus in Chandrapur district, comprise 120MW Stage 1 and a 540MW Stage 2.

The company states that "the first phase of 2 x 60 MW Thermal Power Plant is under execution in an area of 400 acres at having necessary clearances from Ministry of Environment & Forest, Ministry of Power & Industries, Water Irrigation Dept. & all other local bodies. The second phase of two units of 2 x 270 MW is also envisaged by the Company in the vicinity of Plant erected under Phase I. The Company has all the financial and administrative sanctions for the success of the project in place."[3]
