Guyang Jinshan Cogen power station (蒙能包头固阳金山热电厂) is a proposed 700-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China.

Background on Project

Inner Mongolia Energy Generation & Investment Group is seeking approval for a 2 x 350 MW supercritical power station at Jinshan, Guyang County.[1] It is described as a captive power plant for the East Hope Group.[2]

The plant was permitted in November 2015.[3] It is planned for operation in 2017. The plant is for residential heating and is a considered a poverty reduction project.[4]

Planet satellite imagery suggests construction began in June 2017 and then proceeded rapidly. The plant is planned for operation in 2019.[2]
