Coal

The Port of Gwangyang handles coal, as well as petrochemical products, fertilizers, iron ore, and steel products.

Gwangyang city is the home of POSCO's Gwangyang Steel Works, the largest steel plant in the world. The port imports coal, ore, and limestone to feed the steelworks.

Russian coal is also brought into the port from Rason Port in North Korea.
