Héctor Horacio Magnetto
"He graduated with honors as a Public Accountant from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata. He was very young when he joined Diario Clarín, where he reached the position of General Manager. He worked for Clarín for more than half of the newspaper’s life. During his office, Clarín undertook a diversification process that turned it into one of the main Latin American media groups engaged in radio, broadcast and cable television, printing industry, Internet and telecommunications services. He is currently the chairman and CEO of Grupo Clarín and Vice Chairman of Fundación Noble.
Among other institutions, he is a member of the World Association of Newspapers (WAN), the Inter American Press Association (IAPA), the International Press Institute (IPI) and the Consejo Empresario de América Latina (Latin American Business Council, CEAL, for its Spanish acronym). He is vice president of the Asociación Empresaria Argentina (Argentine Business Association, AEA, for its Spanish acronym) and founder member of the Iberoamerican Forum, which gathers intellectual, business, and political players of Iberoamerican countries.
"He has lectured in several national and international forums and seminars, among them, plenary meetings of the International Press Institute, the World Association of Newspapers, the Iberoamerican Forum, and the "Latin American Julio Cortázar Lecture" of Universidad de Guadalajara.
"In 1998 he was named the Iberoamerican Communicator of the Year at the Iberoamerican Advertising Festival (FIAP, for its Spanish acronym).
"He received three awards, the last one in 2008: The Konex award in the category Commercial and Services Businessmen.
"In 2008, he received the Best Businessman Award in the category Services from the Asociación de Dirigentes de Empresas de la Argentina (Argentine Association of Business Leaders)."[1]
