Harry Halpin
He was the President of the Board of the LEAP Encryption Access Project, working on end-to-end encryption for riseup.net, an activist e-mail provider. Previously, he finished his Ph.D in Informatics at University of Edinburgh under Andy Clark on Social Semantics and then was a postdoctoral researcher at Centre Pompidou where he worked with Bernard Stiegler. He co-chairs the Philosophy of the Web workshop series collected in Philosophical Engineering (Wiley, 2014). He's had the dubious honor of being spied on by undercover cop Mark Kennedy and targetted by the FBI for his revolutionary solidarity against all forms of domination and exploitation. His academic writing on everything from Anonymous to complexity theory appears in obscure philosophical journals and even more obscure techical conferences. [1]
