Background on Plant (Units 1-5)
Units 1-5 of Hefei power station were brought online between 1969 and 2009. Units 1 and 2 were retired in 1998. Units 3 was retired in 2007, and unit 4 in 2010. [1] Unit 5 (630 MW) was commissioned in 2009. The plant is owned by Wenergy Group.[2]
Description of Expansion (Unit 6)
The plant's owners recently completed an additional coal-fired unit at this plant, with a capacity of 630 MW. The proposal was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in November 2011, and the new unit was completed in 2013.[3][4][5]
