Heineken N.V., based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, is a global beer maker, with sales in almost every country. Global brands include Heineken, Amstel, and Murphy's. Regional and national brands include Buckler in Europe, Moretti in Italy, Bochkaryov in Russia, and Quilmes in Argentina. Tiger brand in Asia is Asia's leading regional brew. Heineken continues to grow worldwide. The Heineken family owns 50% of Heineken Holding which owns 50% of Heineken N.V. [1]

Ad boycott against Air America Radio
Heineken refused to advertise on the progressive Air America Radio. In October 2006, around 90 companies, including Heineken, told ABC Radio Networks that they did not want their ads to play on radio stations that carried Air America Radio. [2] [3] [4]
Political contributions
Heineken USA gave $69,500 to federal candidates in the 2006 U.S. election through its political action committee - 53% to Democrats, 44% to Republicans, and 3% ($2,500) to independent Joseph Lieberman (I-CT). [5]
Lobbying
Heineken USA spent $80,000 for lobbying in the U.S. in the first half of 2007. All of it went to the lobbying firm Podesta Group. [6]
