Background on Plant
Hesheng Shanshan power station began as a 2 x 330 MW subcritical coal plant in Shanshan, Turpan prefecture. It was commissioned in 2013-2014, and is owned by Ningbo Hesheng Group.[1]
An additional 2 x 350 MW supercritical units were commissioned in November 2018.[2]
An additional unit 5 was proposed.[1] However, there has been no news or developments on unit 5 since 2016, and plans appear shelved.
