Background

In 2010 India Power Corporation (now Hiranmaye Energy) received Environmental Clearance (EC) for a 3 x 135 MW coal plant.[1] In June 2015, the company received EC for a 3 x 150 MW coal plant.[2]

The units are under construction and planned for operation in 2016-2017,[3] later pushed to 2017-2018.[4][5]

According to the August 2017 Broad Status Report by the India Central Electricity Authority, Unit 1 was commissioned on June 7, 2017.[6] Unit 2 was commissioned on December 31, 2017.[7]

According to the March 2019 Broad Status Report, construction work on Unit 3 is on hold.[8]
