Homes for the Homeless (HFH) "is the nation's largest provider of residential, education and employment training centers—serving over 630 homeless families and over 1,200 homeless children each day at five separate sites across New York City. Dubbed American Family Inns, these sites function as communities of opportunity, carefully integrating a network of on-site education, employment and family support services that address the multiple causes of homelessness." [1]

"Founded in New York City in 1990 as the research policy arm of Homes for the Homeless, The Institute for Children and Poverty (ICP) continues to collaborate with HFH on projects directly related to homeless families." [2]
