Huadian Wangting power station (华电望亭发电厂) is a 1,620-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Jiangsu Province, China.

There is also a 780 MW (2 x 390 MW) natural gas combined cycle power station at the same location.

Background on Plant

Huadian Wangting power station began as a six-unit coal-fired power plant in Jiangsu Province. As shown in Google Earth's "time machine" feature, two units were demolished between 2007 and 2009. Units 3-5, totaling 1,260 MW, were completed between 1989 and 2009. Unit 6, totaling 660 MW, was completed in 2010. The plant is owned by China Huadian.

The generation license for unit 3 was cancelled in October 2019, leaving 1,620 MW.
