Background on Project

Huaneng Jining Gaoxin power station is a 2 x 30 MW coal plant owned by China Huaneng that began operating in 2004. It is located in Sunshidian Village.[1]

New units

China Huaneng has proposed a 2 x 350 MW coal plant in the Technology Development District of Jining Prefecture. It is planned for operation in 2017. Unit 3 was permitted for construction in August 2015,[2][3] and unit 4 in January 2017.[4]

Nationwide Restrictions Imposed on Development of Coal-Fired Power Capacity

In January 2017 China's National Energy Administration suspended over 100 planned and under-construction coal power projects in 13 provinces, including unit 4 of the Huaneng Jining Gaoxin power station. It is unclear when or if the projects will be revived.[5]
