Background on Plant

Huaneng Mengcheng power station is a proposed 2 x 1,000 MW coal plant in Anhui province, sponsored by China Huaneng.[1]

The project was proposed in 2013. In 2017, the Bozhou city government put the project into the city's 13th 5-year plan, saying it will push forward with the project' s preliminary work.[2] The project is also listed in the 2017 Anhui Province's Power Development 13th 5-Year Plan, as a back-up project.[3]

As of December 2019 there have been no developments on the project, and it appears to be shelved.
